What you can change
Use the generator controls to customize your paper before downloading:
- Grid spacing: Select standard presets or enter any custom spacing in inches or millimeters.
- Paper size and orientation: Choose Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A5, A4, or A3 sheets in portrait or landscape.
- Line color and darkness: Pick from multiple ink colors and adjust line opacity to save printer ink.
- Line weight and style: Choose thin, medium, or thick lines, and switch between solid or dashed rules.
- Major accent lines: Add heavier guide lines every few squares for graphing and engineering drawings.
- Page margins: Adjust border margins on all four sides, or toggle the vertical margin line on notebook paper.
- Multi-page documents: Generate multi-page PDF documents up to 50 pages in a single file.
- Scale verification bar: Print with a 1-inch or 2 cm footer scale bar to verify accurate measurements with a ruler.
Print at actual size
- Open the PDF in your browser or PDF reader.
- In the print dialog, set scale to 100% or Actual size.
- Do not use Fit to page. It shrinks the grid.
- Measure the scale bar in the footer (1 in or 2 cm) with a ruler to confirm the print size.
